As we celebrate International Women’s Day, the Marine Science department at Cummins Cederberg recently completed a Marine Resource Survey at the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Key West performed by an all-female crew. Gina Chiello, Senior Project Manager, led the expedition with Elizabeth Jones and Rebecah Delp.
The U.S. Coast Guard is preparing for potential marina reconfiguration and needed a biological resource survey of the existing structures and substrate as part of a preliminary analysis. Cummins Cederberg completed the marine resource assessment of the existing submerged bottom, dock, and bulkhead structures to document the extent, species, and density of corals, seagrasses and other benthic resources growing within the project footprint.
