More about the 1800 Atlantic Shoreline Stabilization project
Cummins Cederberg provided coastal engineering and environmental consulting services for the 1800 Atlantic Condominium located in Key West, Florida. Specifically, the project looked to restore the shoreline fronting the Condominium approximately 450 linear feet from the chronic coastal erosion. As part of the proposed scope of work, Cummins Cederberg conducted coastal engineering analysis to appropriately design, size, and develop construction drawings for coastal protection structures. The coastal protection structures included three nearshore rock structures with sand immediately behind one structure to enhance the quality of the beach. Cummins Cederberg also conducted the environmental permitting for the project site, securing authorization from state and federal agencies.
Construction support services were carried out through all phases—bidding, preconstruction coordination, milestone-based administration, project closeout, reporting, certification, and a quality control survey. Cummins Cederberg conducted site visits, reviewed contractor data, and ensured compliance with permit conditions. Quarterly coordination meetings and progress updates were also completed.
